Hahaha...yes. Well, then.

I know what you're thinking...JULY jenny, really? july?  Can't make an update for 3 months and you expect us to read it?

Well I don't expect you to read it so there.  But I will try to update more regularly since that was my original intention at the beginning of the year.

On Monday this guy in a huge GMC suburan ran over me and my bike because he wasn't paying attention to both directions of traffic.  I came away with a really mangled bike and large bruises, but nothing major.  The guy, however came away with about a $100 bike bill and a lot of dirty looks from several people who pulled over to scream and yell at him and mutter two feet away while I took down his info.

Rocky is huge but he's been scratching himself and getting hot spots (don't worry, he doesn't have fleas), so I took a pair of scissors to his coat and now he looks ridiculous.  Also, he's still a big baby.

I'm going back to school (no really, I'm going back for serious this time!) in the fall.  Cuesta calls to me, what can I say.  Also a lot of life-pondering and some worrisome contemplation brings on minor (and major) anxiety about various aspects on the Jenny spectrum.

In the mean time, life cruises on newly fitted rims as I go to work for Red Cross and the Children's Museum.  No real time for stopping, but some time will have to be made for a few issues that having been slowly wending their way up from the shadows.  Stuff I don't want to think about.  But I guess we'll get there when we get there.

Or I could just shove my head back in the sand and pretend to be blissfully ignorant for a while longer.

I haven't been updating, but here's what's big in my life right now. Shallow, isn't it?

Epic Battle? It will be, if they don’t get their shit together.

Okay, I’m sorry I have to fill you in on this because it’s driving me insane.  In case you hadn’t really been paying attention, I’m involved in this ongoing saga with my roommates about them not picking up after themselves.  As proof positive to my landlord, who doesn’t like them to begin with, I’ve been taking pictures of their slovenly ways and the notes I’ve been writing (since we’re not in the house at the same time) asking them to pick up after themselves.

The first note in this pick-up-your-shit saga was mine.  Left for them yesterday...
Hi, I realize you guys don’t like me that much and you’re moving out soon.  That’s fine.  But imagine if you came home every day to a mess and Rocky just sitting in the middle of it.  You’d be mad at me right?  Now how do you think i feel when I come home every day to dirty dishes and tv dinners just sitting on the coffee table, blankets strewn everywhere and a sink FULL of dirty dishes--NONE OF WHICH ARE MINE.  I know *girl roommate* has had to clean up after Rocky.  ONCE.  When I first got here.  Now think if you had to do that every day.  I don’t know if it’s only one of you or not, but we are adults.  Pick up after yourself.  I am not a maid service.

[Okay, so see...that was fair right?  I was only saying they needed to pick up more, and then put it in perspective using Rocky, who they don’t have to pick up after--in exception to that first and only time way back in December which is a totally different story.  Their response, well *guy roommate*’s, since I’m assuming girl’s writing would have been much better than the script I found on the whiteboard said:]

Well, I didn’t take a picture of it, but the gist of it was this 1. your little notes dont’ help your cause 2. we’re students 3. maybe i could ask you to stop using my stuff 4. maybe you should have found out more about the house before you moved in. 5. our house is the norm among college students

[My response, left about 20 minutes ago]

1. A clean house is not a cause--it’s a basic expectation from both your peers and your landlord
-->If you are telling me two college seniors can’t pick up after themselves better than 18 and 19 year old full time students that are also working full time, then maybe you should rent a private, personal residencec or hotel room so no one realizes how lazy and dirty you are [harsh, i know, but do you see the small truth in there?] Try NOT staying up til 2 am watching movies at full blast--maybe you’ll discover some extra time--like 10 minutes to do your dishes or 30 seconds to move dishes to the sink from the coffee table[they leave their dishes, WITH FOOD STILL ON IT, on the coffee table, on the counters, in their rooms...it’s disgusting.  and it’s take out and fast food too, not just dishes--like taco bell half-eaten burritos that sit on the coffee table for days]
2.Are you talking about the tv i haven’t been watching in the living room [I have my own tv in my room] or the computer charger I haven’t used in 2 weeks, not counting any time it’s been in your room [his charger matches my computer, which is without a charger.  I only use it when he is not using his computer and it’s not in his room, which I admit, is still slightly wrong of me to use].Maybe you’re talking about the dish drainer?  I can start towel drying my dishes...Of course you would have to stop using my dish soap, my sponges, my pots and pans--one of which you guys already ruined by leaving it out on the counter with food and sauce still in it instead of washing it or even just soaking it.  Also, you’d need to get any and all of your stuff on the porch and in my closet out of the house or into your room [our house has no storage space available, and they’re leaving like boxes of knickknacks and a sofa out on the back porch plus tons of their shit is in my closet because I couldn’t stand it being in the living room anymore]
3.  Being a student is not an excuse--all the other places I’ve lived manage to keep a clean house.  Hell, they even do yard work and clean weekly [neither of which my roommates do...I do that].  That goes for mosto of my friends’ houses too.  So if all of your friends houses are like ours, maybe it’s just a case of birds of a feather... in which case, don’t be a sheep and accept the norm--CLEAN UP.  I’m not trying to pick a fight, but come on.  Stop making excuses, I am not your mother.  Just realize that you need to pick up after yourselves more, then DO IT.

Okay, so I realize that I’m starting to get snarky by the end of it.  But do you guys get where I’m coming from?  I mean...WTF.  It is not too much to ask them to take the garbage bins out to the curb if I’m not home.  IT is  NOT too much to expect them to throw away their taco bell wrappers or take whatever they were cooking and put some aluminum foil over it and stick it in the fridge.  They don’t even really have to DO the dishes, as long as they just get them to the sink and fill them with water...BUT THEY DON’T.

Did you miss me?

Sorry I haven't updated in a bit...I started my new job, thus having a little less time in my day  (also, I ran out of battery and it looked like my roommate was doing a project, so I didn't want to unplug his laptop just to charge mine).

So...I started at Red Cross on Tuesday.  I've met with Morro Bay and Atascadero High Schools' clubs and also the Cal Poly "Collegiate" club (because they aren't "Youth and Young Adults").  Everything seems pretty scattered at the high schools, from what I've been told and the meager bits I witnessed.  Hopefully this week I will be able to get my fingers entangled a little more in each clubs' schedules so I can get a better grasp of what's going on.  I'll be seeing AG and SLO this week in addition to Atas and MB so it should get interesting.  There will be much with the leadership training involved for all the officers at each school.  Also, on Monday I'm going to test in front of a volunteer instructor to get my CPR/First Aid certification so I can take the instructor course (we need another CPR instructor, since right now there's only like 2 doing most of the work).  Hopefully I'll pass...I just have one question for him, and then I'll be ready.

Ummm....The choir concert last night was pretty good.  It felt a little long, but overall it went well.  TitS did a great job.  Though, I have to admit, I wasn't as excited watching them since I'd seen them practicing and tweaking it so I think from now on I'll opt out of coming early to pick up Bruno etc.  It was still awesome, though.

Rocky and I went up Madonna today with another dog named Chance (a sheltie).  I also went on Felman's Loop with Bruno on Saturday, so I only have like 3 more trails in SLO that I want to do (see the previous post about the hiking site).  Madonna was pretty boring...It's supposed to be just as hard as Bishops, but without having to wend my way through brush and monstrous steps of rock and switchbacks...it's just not as fun.  Plus every college girl and her teacup chihuahua were climbing so I had to keep Rocky on his leash (why do people buy stupid little nervous dogs like those?  Tiny dogs that are afraid of everything and mean dogs are a huge pet peeve of mine...like, why would you take a dog to a public park where you know there are going to be a lot of other dogs on the trail if your dog isn't friendly?  Are you stupid?  If you aren't trying to socialize them to become nice, then you're just being a major asshole IMO.  But I digress...)

I haven't showered yet today (yeah, I bet you wanted to know that didn't you? =P) .  And now I'm just contemplating giving myself a pedicure after I shower or running to Bruno's house--which technically would completely cancel out the entire point of taking a shower, but I have a lot of energy today.  Actually, I'm probably going to run to Bruno's...then shower again when I get home and then give myself a pedicure.  yes.  Yes.  Great.  I have one thing I kind of want to bitch about, but I think I'll save that for later so that I can run in the sun instead of at sunset and worry about getting run over.  Hope you all had a good weekend!!  And good luck (or hope you did well, for those of you that already had them) on your midterms!!

Try sticking with nature.

Hiiii everyone!  I was supposed to be going to a jazz concert last night with Bruno and Nicolle, but Bruno didn't make it back from Livermore in time.  And then Brun had a stomach ache so we didn't hang out with Nicolle until this morning.  I went to church (yeah that's an average of once a month...haha).  There was a free barbeque afterwards, which was cool.  Yummy tri-tip sandwiches.

Yesterday I was so bored I actually contemplated dying my hair.  I know.  Now, in general, I tend to lean on the side of WTF would you want to dye your hair.  My reasoning is pretty basic...if you were made as nature intended.  There's a reason you're hair, eyes, lashes, and brows are all a coordinated color---because that's what compliments you best...nature doesn't want you to be ugly...it will naturally go for the most attractive traits available.  Right?  Make sense?  So, dying hair...pretty lame to me (just to set you up to understand how bored I was).  So anyways, to see if my theory is wrong, I tried this site.  Lo, and behold, my best look...was the exact same as my usual makeup (none except mascara and the occasional eyeliner) and the same color hair with the same hilights I get naturally from the sun.  Actually, I could go a bit lghter--as far as a dark auburn kind of color.  But still the same basic color scheme--dark brown with red and blonde undertones.  Thus, I feel I'm still right.  But it was still fun to see me with blonde hair and blue hair and other ridiculousness.

And now I'm almost out of battery again, but I just wanted to post something.  Also, it's pouring rain and I'm slightly offended by it (the rain, I mean...it's an affront to my nature).

Going Green and a Gas Tip!

Hey, guys. I found a bunch of this stuff yesterday (I haven't started work yet, so I have a lot of time to cruise around online and do nothing...this will change on Tuesday, when I start at Red Cross).

There's this really awesome website called Gasbuddy. If you click on California and enter your zip in the search bar, it will bring up all the gas stations in your area with the lowest price of gas posted for each station that day, so you can go fill up at the cheapest station. It sounds rediculous, but there's always that one station that's 3-10 cents cheaper and it adds up quick (in some areas, there are smaller stations that are even like a half dollar or more cheaper than the major stations you're used to going to). So go check it out, and give your bank account a little break from the outrageous gas prices!    Also, remember to park in the shade as much as possible and make sure your cap is on tight---gas evaporates easily, and quickly!

I also found a lot of cool stuff about going green in your house.  This is going to take up more room, though, so I'm just going to lj cut it and you can choose which bits you want to check out...you'd be surprised at the small costs a lot of these are.

Just a little randoms

So yesterday I picked up Nicolle after she was done with classes and we went and ambushed Bruno.  It wasn't much of an ambush, though, since he was already back from Jamba Juice.  It was fun, though!!  Um...I don't honestly have anything to report, I just felt like throwing a bit of randomness

I've lost 20 lbs and have about 10-15 to go in order to be where the doctors and BMI say I should be to be not categorized as overweight.  Soooo...that's pretty awesome.  I should be done with that in the next month as long as I can keep up the running and walking with Rocky and playing with Bruno etc etc.

Um...Rocky is 9 months old now and getting super annoying (in a lovable way...I <3 my dog).  He just tore the head off his moomoo playing tug-a-war, and then he ran into his kennel with it to keep it away from me.  It's pretty hilarious.  I tried to get it from him to sew up and he ran away from me, because it's his favorite toy and I think he thought I was going to throw it away.  Also, he discovered peanut butter today...it's apparently now his favorite food.  I'll have to start buying peanut butter training treats for him.

Also, I am currently peeking at the lunar eclipse as it slowly wanes away.  It's pretty cool...the next one's not until 2010 (total lunar eclipse), so I hope you all got to catch some of it, since lunar eclipse-s are one of my favorite natural phenomena.

Yay!  Hope you're all having a good week!!

I'm going to work for RC---Not the Cola, the other one.

I got the call from RC today and....I've got a job bitches.

yeeees.

But I don't start til Monday so I've got a week to find the second little part time job.  It should be kosh.

I've been watching tv on and off all afternoon--I took Rocky out for a walk and then got him a few more toys from PetsMart with the gift card mom gave me.  He chewed through both bones and a moomoo in less than an hour.  Luckily the cow's head is stuffed separately from the body, so i'm letting him play with the cow still--it just looks a little funny.  And I got him a new comb because he's been shedding like crazy, so now his coat's all nice and shiny lookin.  I also went for a half hour run around Lake Lopez.   But back to the tv thing...

I've been watching MTV for an hourish now.  I am secretly addicted to True Life, in case you didn't know.  Right now it's True Life: I'm an Alcoholic and I feel a little awkward watching it.  It's focusing on two girls this time...a 21 year old that lives in Las Vegas and a 24 year old from Livermore.  Actually, she still lives in Livermore.  And she looks vaguely familiar, but I can't remember where from.  It's awkward to see, though...I feel horrible for both of them.  They're both trying to quit and definitely not having much success.  The 24 year old is actually at the point where her hands are shaking in the mornings after she wakes up.

But anywhoodle... I got the job with Red Cross!!!  Yay!  I go in on Monday to work out what my hours will be (they are using a grant to pay me so I get $10.50/hr for 19 hours a week).  I'm supposed to be making a myspace for the youth groups, except there's one at various high schools so it should be interesting...don't get weirded out if you suddenly see a bunch of Red Cross links in my profiles on MS and FB.  I am even contemplating an lj thing depending on what the kids--I guess they aren't really kids if they're in high school, but you know what I mean--say.  Do groups on myspace have a blog option?  I'm basically just going to be making a rough draft of the page this week so I've got something to show them on Monday.  It's going to be awesome.  That's about it for now.  sooooo.  yes.

Hope everyone else's day/week/month is going well.

Oh, and EDD (the people in CA who determine if you can get unemployment) said that I didn't try everything I could before quitting (totally wrong, but I'm not going through that bullshit of delayed paperwork and interviews again).  But other than that....everything's good.

Humdeedum.

Halfway to Bruno's house at like noon, I realized I put "expresso"  and I thought about changing it...but then I figured that none of you would care.  Especially since you know me and spelling...so yes, I know it's supposed to be "espresso"  but oh well.

Travis, Ryan, Bruno, and I went to the park behind Trav's house and passed a football and soccer ball around.  It was pretty fun.  Got some sun for an hour.  Attempted to juggle the soccer ball in a circle, but we weren't having much luck so we finally gave up and dispersed.  Bruno had to study so we had to leave anyways.  My muscles have a little burn left over.  Feels niiiice. :D  I still have some energy (and so does Rocky) so I was thinking of going on a brief run.  I found this site which I find to be super awesome.  I hate running without knowing where I'm going but I'm getting a little tired of Laguna Lake Park (yeah I finally remember the name of the Lake next to my house HA).  So I'm going to start trying these.  The longer ones, of course, I'll truncate for the time being, but slowly lengthen over time.  It's going to be amazing.

Now I'm just chillaxed at home in the living room...contemplating running.  I like running.  I am in desperate need of new running sneaks.  It's hilarious.  I'm watching ANTM reruns on MTV and Tyra Banks is just so much bigger than the girls in the contest.  Like at least two sizes.  Is she still a VS model?  Whaaatever.  Sorry I don't have anything big to talk about I'm just biding my time to go outside and play tomorrow.

Weeeeeeee.

Early Bird

How long's it been since you thought about this sucker?   Yeah, me neither.  That's why I googled it this morning!

I will never understand how people can sleep through half the day any given chance they've got.  I'm lucky if I can sleep until nine when I'm wiped out...but my peers seem to be able to sleep until 11 and later.  Some even late into the afternoon!  Don't you feel lethargic doing that?  You lose most of the day.  By the time your upupup you're already supposed to be having lunch!

I wake up at 7 or 8 depending--weekends I try to stay down until 8 but Rocky makes that a little difficult.  The only problem is, NONE OF YOU ARE AWAKE!!  I have nothing to do with myself for the next 2-3 hours because there's no one to play with (sorry Rocky, I can only toss a toy for you for so long).  The weather is nice now I want to go outside and play!!  wake up people!!   Let's go toss a football or kick a soccer ball around....do something.  I've been cooped up from the rain and I need to stretch my muscles.  Running alone only does so much.  I need human interaction and a variant on my regular physical activity to get my blood pumping.  I went to bed at 1:30 last night because I thought my computer was done updating at 12:30 but it was lying.  And I was still up and raring to go at 7:45

getupgetupgetup

I don't care if I have to take you to Starbucks for twelve ounces of expresso every morning, I just want someone else to be awake and ready to go in the mornings with me!

Just a few bits of news.

Soooo...Beach was a little weird.  I dropped my phone in the ocean ( i know...shut up i already took care of it and still have the same phone number).  Rocky went crazy for the waves and ran around in the water like a madman.  He's a little worn out still (thank goodness).  My computer imploded and I had to use my roommate's reboot CD's because my windows op reboot and driver CD are both mysteriously missing.  I have no idea what I did with them.  Luckily, hers worked on my computer.

Did I mention that yesterday I played outside with Bruno?  We tossed a football around and passed a soccer ball for a while.  It was fun...It was nice to be able to do something out of the house and take in a little sun--even if I was in the dress I wore for dinner haha.  But now my arms are sore from throwing the football...it's kind of pathetic.  But we are supposed to play with Travis tomorrow so that'll be fun!!!

I'm pretty sure nothing to exciting or note-worthy will happen between now and bed so I'll just leave you with the news I found interesting on igoogle today.

Oh Bush i'm so glad you're almost gone.

Oh tiny cars...how i love you.  Especially when you only cost $2500.  I'd pay to have that flown in from india...wouldn't you?

NIU students killed Thursday.  Why haven't people started groups for this on facebook?  I don't know if word hasn't gotten out about it yet or what, but where is the outrage from my peers...why aren't there a bunch of remember/prayer groups about these kids?  Is five not enough for you?
